2011 Wild Horse Blaufrankisch Paso Robles
Aroma: Black licorice, Currant, Nutmeg, Red Cherry
Flavor: Cherry, Vanilla, Nutmeg
Finish: Extremely tasty and very drinkable
Grown on Wild Horse Winery's estate, their Blaufrankisch is on a quadrilateral cordon with a modified lyre canopy that flops over and protects the cluster on the afternoon heat side. When they go to make a decision on picking, they find it is unlike other red varietals and doesn’t really give them a “thumbs up” when it is ready. So, they go on looks, sweetness, acidity, and feel.
